Say it isn't so, Nan and Wala. I'll admit those ballpoints are fine for a quick grocery list, but anything more than that and it's misery. Nothing's faster than a good fountain pen, although a Parker gel ballpoint is mighty close.

Ah, for me the stick ballpoint has its place. It's there for ordinary work, when I'm writing fast and small. The fountain pen, whose flow I love, requires more attention and more space, and only gets used for letters and journal entries. Writing for pleasure.
